Patna: The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) has suffered a major setback in Bihar politics. The party's district president of Buxar, Subhash Gautam, and around two dozen senior officials have resigned from the party, expressing their discontent against National Coordinator Ramji Gautam. This resignation is seen as a sign of growing internal conflicts and disputes within the party in the state.

Resignation of Key Officials in Buxar

The resignations submitted on Monday included:

  • District President Subhash Gautam
  • District In-charge Kamlesh Kumar Rao
  • Mukesh Paswan
  • Shiv Bahadur Patel
  • Virendra Kumar Dome
  • Badak Ram
  • Pappu Patel
  • Ayodhya Ram
  • Anil Kumar Gautam
  • Vijendra Singh
  • Devmuni Ram
  • Anil Kushwaha

These leaders have accused National Coordinator Ramji Gautam of weakening the party, adopting an autocratic attitude, and mistreating workers from the Extremely Backward and Backward Classes.

What did the leaders say?

Explaining the reason for the resignations, the officials issued a press release. It stated that conspiracies are being hatched with opposition parties to weaken the party in Bihar. An autocratic attitude is also being adopted within the organization. Workers from the Extremely Backward and Backward Classes are being expelled and mistreated.

They clarified that due to these reasons, they have decided to resign from the party en masse. Prior to this resignation, BSP state in-charge Anil Kumar had resigned from his post. His close associate and local leader from Buxar, Abhimanyu Kushwaha, was also expelled from the party. Anil Kumar had previously represented the Buxar seat for BSP in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections. His resignation and Kushwaha's expulsion have exposed serious internal conflicts within the BSP organization in Buxar.
