Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath issued directives to ensure that Diwali and upcoming festivals are celebrated in a peaceful and secure environment. He instructed officials to keep the intelligence system active, promote indigenous products, and maintain strict vigilance over law and order.
Gorakhpur: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath conducted a comprehensive review of law and order, security, and festival preparations across the state concerning the upcoming Diwali and other festivals. He directed officials to keep the intelligence system and police force on alert at all levels and to take immediate action to prevent any anti-social activities. The Chief Minister also emphasized celebrating festivals using indigenous products and giving special attention to environmental protection.
Security and Law & Order Paramount during Deepotsav
The Chief Minister clarified that Ayodhya's Deepotsav and Kashi's Dev Diwali have become the identity not only of Uttar Pradesh but of the entire country. Millions of devotees and tourists participate in such large-scale events. He directed that the police and intelligence systems be kept active, and strict action be ensured against unruly elements.
Additionally, monitoring of traffic, security, and arrangements should be given top priority. The Chief Minister stated that any disruption during Deepotsav is unacceptable, and all officials should take necessary ground-level actions.
Environmental and Security Directives Issued for Diwali
The Chief Minister called for bly promoting the message of "Diwali be Swadeshi" (Diwali be Indigenous). From October 10, indigenous product fairs will be organized across the state, encouraging families from all sections to purchase local products and boost local trade.
Furthermore, directives were issued to immerse Lakshmi idols in ponds instead of rivers, to sell firecrackers away from populated areas, and to ban harmful firecrackers. The administration was urged to remain vigilant to ensure timely arrangements for fire tenders and licenses.
Administration Alert on Food and Social Media Security
The Chief Minister entrusted the responsibility of food safety to FSDA and the district administration. Strict inspections were ordered to prevent adulteration in items like milk, khoya, paneer, and sweets. While ensuring no harassment of traders, immediate action will be taken if found guilty.
Instructions were also given for strict monitoring and necessary action against elements inciting caste-based sentiments on social media. Special vigilance was urged regarding drone-related rumors and security after Friday prayers.
Vigilance on Cleanliness, Lighting, and Traffic Management
The Chief Minister instructed urban local bodies and district administration to conduct special cleanliness drives before the festivals. Roads and streets should be kept clean and well-lit, and problems of waterlogging and power supply should be resolved promptly.
The convenience of devotees and visitors in cities and towns will be ensured through spiral lights and special traffic management. Coordination between the police and traffic department will be mandatory at major religious sites and places of worship.
