delhi: NDA's Vice Presidential candidate and Governor of Maharashtra, CP Radhakrishnan, has arrived in Delhi. He was warmly welcomed at the Delhi airport by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta and several senior BJP leaders. Radhakrishnan's convoy was already prepared, and he was respectfully received by leaders and supporters as soon as he emerged from the airport.
Grand Welcome at the Airport
Union Ministers Kiren Rijiju, Bhupender Yadav, and several senior Delhi BJP leaders were present to welcome CP Radhakrishnan. During the welcome ceremony, leaders wished Radhakrishnan well as he represents the NDA for the Vice Presidential post. The leaders present on the occasion praised Radhakrishnan's political and administrative achievements.
Special Meeting with Prime Minister Modi
After arriving in Delhi, CP Radhakrishnan also met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The meeting involved discussions regarding the Vice Presidential election, and the Prime Minister conveyed his blessings and support. Following the meeting, Radhakrishnan shared a post on social media stating that he felt honored to meet Prime Minister Modi.
To File Nomination on August 21st
According to sources, CP Radhakrishnan will officially file his nomination for the Vice Presidential post on August 21st. This step by the NDA comes at a time when Jagdeep Dhankhar suddenly resigned from the post of Vice President due to health reasons. Radhakrishnan's name was chosen by the NDA through unanimous decision, and no formal candidate has yet been declared by the opposition against him.
Political and Administrative Experience of CP Radhakrishnan
CP Radhakrishnan has acquired more than four decades of experience in the politics and administration of Tamil Nadu. He became the Governor of Maharashtra on July 31, 2024. Prior to this, he served as the Governor of Jharkhand, and during this time, he also held the additional charge of Governor of Telangana and Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry on behalf of the President.
He was born on October 20, 1957, in Tirupur, Tamil Nadu. Radhakrishnan is considered an experienced and trustworthy leader in Indian politics due to his long political and administrative career. His selection for the post of Vice President was based on political balance and experience.
