Delhi Police to Use Abhigyan App, AI, FRS Cameras and Anti-Drone System for Red Fort Security on August 15

Delhi Police will deploy the Abhigyan App, AI-based systems, FRS cameras and an Anti-Drone System at the Red Fort on August 15. The Abhigyan App will enable biometric verification and criminal-record checks of suspected individuals at the site.

Delhi Police will use Artificial Intelligence-based systems, Facial Recognition System (FRS) cameras, an Anti-Drone System and the Abhigyan App as part of the security arrangements at the Red Fort on August 15. The app will enable security personnel to conduct biometric checks of suspected individuals and check available criminal records at the spot.

The Delhi Police has incorporated modern technology into the security arrangements at the Red Fort for Independence Day. The venue will have VIPs, VVIPs and thousands of visitors during the Prime Minister’s programme and the Independence Day celebrations. The security arrangements include AI-based systems, FRS cameras, an Anti-Drone System and the Abhigyan App.

Using the Abhigyan App, security personnel will be able to conduct biometric checks on individuals who appear suspicious in the crowd. Security personnel have been provided with handheld biometric devices for this purpose. If a person is suspected, their fingerprints can be scanned, after which the system matches the information against an available database containing criminal records.

The Abhigyan App provides a rapid biometric verification process. After a fingerprint is scanned, the system searches the backend criminal-record database for a corresponding record. If the information matches, security personnel may receive information related to the person’s criminal record.

The app uses colour signals to simplify the process. If the scanned fingerprint matches a criminal record, a red signal appears on the screen. If no corresponding match is found in the available records, a green signal is displayed.

The system means security personnel will not need to take a suspected individual to a police station every time for an initial check. The process can help security forces conduct checks rapidly at the site, particularly during a high-security event such as Independence Day.

The security arrangements at the Red Fort will not rely only on biometric systems. FRS cameras are also being used as part of the security system. These cameras can assist in monitoring activities in crowded areas and identifying suspicious faces.

An Anti-Drone System has also been included in the security arrangements in view of potential security threats involving drones. The system can assist security agencies in monitoring drones entering restricted areas and dealing with associated threats.

The presence of a large number of people during the Independence Day celebrations at the Red Fort requires security agencies to maintain continuous surveillance. The deployment of the Abhigyan App, FRS cameras and the Anti-Drone System is aimed at making this surveillance more effective.

Biometric verification can provide information about a suspected individual at the site and assist security personnel in taking rapid action. Camera-based surveillance and the Anti-Drone System will strengthen monitoring at different levels. The security arrangements at the Red Fort therefore combine conventional measures with the use of modern technology.
