DRDO Developing Advanced Weapon Systems to Counter China and Pakistan

India's Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has taken a new leap in the field of defence technology. CDS General Anil Chauhan revealed during the Ran Samvad seminar at the Army War College in Mhow, Madhya Pradesh, that DRDO is working on weapons and technologies that could prove to be very damaging to Pakistan and China.

New Delhi: Keeping in mind the military strength of Pakistan and China, DRDO scientists are working day and night. To further strengthen the country's security, DRDO is currently working on several state-of-the-art and lethal weapon systems, which, once fully developed, will prove challenging for both Pakistan and China.

At the Ran Samvad seminar of the Army War College held in Mhow, Madhya Pradesh, CDS General Anil Chauhan explained the technologies and weapon systems that DRDO is working on. These include long-range precision missiles, advanced drone technology, electronic warfare systems, and other advanced defence equipment.

DRDO's Special Integrated System

Addressing the students, General Anil Chauhan said that DRDO is currently testing a special integrated system, which includes:

  • QRSAM (Quick Reaction Surface to Air Missile) – This is a surface-to-air missile capable of instantly destroying aerial attacks.
  • VSHORADS (Very Short Range Air Defense System) – This defends against short and medium-range aerial threats.
  • 5 Kilowatt Laser – State-of-the-art laser technology that can accurately and rapidly destroy targets.

All these systems are being integrated to develop multi-domain defence capabilities.

Need for Multi-Domain ISR

The CDS said that the role of multi-domain ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance, Reconnaissance) is extremely important in modern warfare. This requires creating an integrated network of sensors and technologies from land, air, sea, underwater, and space. General Chauhan explained that this technology will require large-scale data aggregation and analysis. Analyzing massive amounts of data is essential for real-time decision-making.

DRDO is using Artificial Intelligence (AI), Advanced Computation, Big Data, Large Language Models (LLM), and quantum technology in this project. Its aim is to make the defence system faster, more effective, and cost-effective. General Chauhan expressed confidence that India will fully develop these technologies with minimal cost and high efficiency.
