Equity mutual fund inflows rose again in August 2026 after declining in July, with net inflows increasing by around 19% to ₹29,328.62 crore from ₹24,697.39 crore in the previous month, according to the latest data from the Association of Mutual Funds in India (AMFI).
AMFI data showed that equity-oriented mutual fund schemes recorded net inflows of ₹29,328.62 crore in August, compared with ₹24,697.39 crore in July. In June 2026, these schemes had recorded net inflows of ₹28,973 crore.
The August figures indicate that investment in equity-oriented schemes increased after the decline recorded in July.
Monthly investment through Systematic Investment Plans (SIPs) also reached a new record in August. According to AMFI data, SIP contributions stood at ₹32,297 crore during the month, compared with ₹31,961 crore in July and ₹31,781 crore in June.
SIP contributions increased by around ₹336 crore, or approximately 1.1%, from July to August.

Small Cap Funds recorded net inflows of ₹7,973.33 crore in August, compared with ₹7,767.50 crore in July. Mid Cap Funds recorded inflows of ₹6,989.40 crore, up from ₹6,192.31 crore in July.
Combined, Small Cap and Mid Cap Funds received ₹14,962.73 crore in August, accounting for around 51% of total equity fund inflows.
Flexi Cap Funds recorded net inflows of ₹5,059.42 crore, while Multi Cap Funds received ₹3,732.77 crore during the month.
Large Cap Funds recorded net outflows of ₹1,147.36 crore in August. The outflow was lower than the ₹1,321.69 crore recorded in July.
ELSS Funds also recorded net outflows of ₹1,078.32 crore in August, while Sectoral Funds saw a net outflow of ₹53.19 crore.
Debt funds recorded a significant change in August. The category had registered net inflows of around ₹1.88 lakh crore in July, but recorded net outflows of ₹8,127.32 crore in August.
Overnight Funds recorded outflows of ₹30,654.25 crore. Liquid Funds, however, received ₹19,934.29 crore, while Money Market Funds recorded inflows of ₹11,734.71 crore.
