Mumbai Police have arrested 22-year-old Suneha alias Pari from Karnal, Haryana, in connection with the firing incident targeting Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff's car. Police allege that money was transferred to the attackers through a bank account belonging to her husband. A special MCOCA court in Mumbai has remanded her to police custody until November 16.
A team from the Mumbai Crime Branch reached Haryana on November 1 as part of its investigation into the firing incident involving Tiger Shroff's car. The team first contacted the Panipat Crime Branch and subsequently, with the assistance of local police, took Suneha into custody from Shiv Colony in the Ramnagar police station area of Karnal.
The police questioned her for approximately three hours before formally arresting her and producing her before a court in Karnal.
Following the grant of four days of transit remand by the court of Civil Judge Judicial Magistrate Ritika Sharma, Mumbai Police took her into custody and brought her to Mumbai.
On November 3, a special MCOCA court in Mumbai heard the case and remanded Suneha to police custody until November 16. Police said her interrogation would focus on tracing financial transactions and gathering information about the absconding accused.
According to Mumbai Police, Suneha's husband, Abhishek Pandit, holds a bank account with the State Bank of India (SBI). Investigators have found that money was transferred from this account to individuals arrested in connection with the firing incident.
Investigating officers allege that Abhishek used a cryptocurrency wallet linked to overseas operations, through which funds were transferred into the bank account. According to police, Suneha's mobile number was linked to the bank account.
Police told the court that Rs 30,000 had been transferred from the account to one of the accused. The amount was allegedly used to purchase a motorcycle and arrange accommodation for the accused.
Investigators are now examining the source of the funds transferred through cryptocurrency and determining how many people were involved in the financial transactions.
Firing targeting Tiger Shroff's car took place on October 18 in Mumbai's Juhu area. Following the incident, Mumbai Police registered a case and launched an investigation.
Police have arrested several accused in connection with the case, including 18-year-old Phulsingh Naresh from Baroda village in Sonipat, Rehan from Eidgah Colony in Sonipat and Ritik from Mumbai.
During the interrogation of the arrested individuals and examination of bank accounts, investigators found leads related to financial transactions. Suneha's name emerged during this investigation.
With her arrest, the total number of people arrested in the case has reached 13.
Suneha's husband, Abhishek, is the younger brother of Anil Pandit, who is also an accused in the case. Anil is originally from Rer Kalan village in Haryana's Panipat district. He is currently abroad, and police are searching for him in connection with the case.
According to available information, Anil's father is in jail. His younger brother Abhishek is also reportedly facing two previously registered cases at the Bapoli police station in Panipat.
Mumbai Police are searching for Abhishek while examining his bank accounts and cryptocurrency-related transactions.
During the hearing before the Mumbai court, Suneha's lawyer opposed the allegations made by the police.
The defence argued that the use of a family bank account for financial transactions does not, by itself, establish that the woman was involved in the conspiracy behind the firing incident.
Police, however, argued that the bank account linked to her mobile number had been used to transfer money to the accused, making her interrogation necessary.
After considering the police's submissions, the court authorised her custody.
Investigators will now examine how much Suneha knew about the transactions and whether she had any role in transferring the money. The allegations are currently under investigation.
