Maharashtra CM Fadnavis Assures Farmer Loan Waivers, Criticizes Opposition's 'Attack and Run' Politics

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has bly attacked the opposition at the conclusion of the monsoon session. He stated that the opposition parties are only engaging in a 'attack and run' style of politics, while the government is consistently working for the development of the state and the welfare of the public.

Maharashtra Politics: Announcing a major relief for the farmers of Maharashtra, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has clearly stated that the state government is fully committed to agricultural loan waivers. Speaking to the media after the conclusion of the monsoon session, Fadnavis said that the state government is taking every necessary step in the interest of the farmers, and the opposition is only trying to mislead the public by making baseless allegations.

Major Announcement by the Government for Farmers

Chief Minister Fadnavis reiterated that the Mahayuti government is working towards a permanent solution to the agrarian crisis. He also clarified that the government is serious and committed to waiving farmers' loans. This is being considered a major relief for the millions of farmers in Maharashtra, as the state has witnessed an increase in farmer suicides in the past few years.

Fadnavis said, "We will take every necessary step to provide relief to the farmers. The government's aim is not just to provide immediate relief, but to find a long-term solution, so that farmers do not get caught in the quagmire of debt again in the future."

Details of the Government's Achievements

Referring to the 16 bills passed by the government during the monsoon session, the Chief Minister said that many of these bills are related to the welfare of farmers, the security of the state, and the upliftment of the weaker sections of society. He informed that the government has passed the 'Special Public Safety Bill' to deal with left-wing extremism. In addition, important initiatives such as the bill to give statutory status to the Scheduled Castes/Tribes Commission, the formation of a special mining authority for Gadchiroli, and a special authority for the Nashik Kumbh have also been taken in the session.

Fadnavis also announced that crimes related to narcotics will now be brought under 'MCOCA' (Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act) so that strict action can be taken against the illegal drug trade. In addition, he also spoke about the formation of a high-level committee for a long-term solution to the agrarian crisis.

Targeting the Opposition

Chief Minister Fadnavis said that the opposition made baseless allegations against the government throughout the session and tried to mislead the public. He alleged that the opposition had no concrete issue, so they raised unfounded questions that had no basis. Fadnavis accused the opposition of adopting a 'attack and run' strategy. He said that the opposition has neither any solution for the public nor any concrete plan for the farmers. They just want to grab headlines in the media by making allegations.

Chief Minister Fadnavis also confirmed that Islampur has been renamed Ishwarpur. He said that this is not just a name change, but a restoration of history.

Expressed Displeasure Over Scuffle in the House

The Chief Minister expressed displeasure over the scuffle between BJP and NCP (Sharad Pawar faction) MLAs inside the House. He said, even children don't fight like this. This is very unfortunate and it damages the image of the government's functioning. On the meeting with Uddhav Thackeray, Fadnavis said that there is no need to consider it a political signal.
