Ghaziabad Inspector Suspended for Colluding with Conversion Gang and Intimidating Victim

Crime Branch In-charge Inspector Abdul Rahman Siddiqui in Ghaziabad has been suspended for colluding with the Changur gang and intimidating a victim. The Police Commissioner issued the suspension order, taking strict action.

UP News: A stir rippled through the police department in Ghaziabad district, Uttar Pradesh, when Crime Branch in-charge Inspector Abdul Rahman Siddiqui was suspended. He faces serious allegations of collusion with the gang of Jamaluddin alias Changur, who is accused of running an illegal conversion racket. The matter became even more serious when it emerged that Siddiqui had not only threatened a victim but also told her to remain silent. Ghaziabad Police Commissioner J. Ravinder Goud took serious cognizance of the entire episode and immediately suspended Siddiqui.

Accusation of Intimidating Conversion Victim

According to information, the entire case dates back to 2019 when a victim's family in Meerut filed a complaint at the Civil Lines police station regarding the kidnapping and forced conversion of their daughter. It is alleged that the then-station in-charge Inspector Abdul Rahman Siddiqui not only refused to register the case but also threatened the victim's family, warning them of consequences if they spoke about the matter. Due to this threat, the family was intimidated and remained silent for a long time.

Allegations of Love Jihad and Forced Conversion

The victim's family had alleged that their daughter was targeted under the guise of love jihad and forcibly converted. When the family protested, they did not receive cooperation from the police. Instead, they were threatened. The victim later contacted higher authorities seeking justice. During this time, the involvement of the Changur gang and its members came to light.

Layers Unveiled During Interrogation of Changur

Notably, Jamaluddin alias Changur, who ran the illegal conversion racket, is currently in the custody of the ATS (Anti-Terrorism Squad). During interrogation, Changur made several shocking revelations, including the fact that he had been receiving help from the police and administration at various levels. Changur stated that Inspector Abdul Rahman Siddiqui not only helped him in 2019 but also intimidated the victim's family to suppress the case. Upon confirmation of these points during the ATS investigation, Ghaziabad police took swift action and suspended the inspector.

Questions Raised Previously

This is not the first time that questions have been raised about Abdul Rahman Siddiqui. Dissatisfaction with his working style has been expressed within the department before. However, this time the matter was extremely serious because it not only questioned the impartiality of the police but also involved allegations of connections with an organized conversion gang. The question of a police officer's role in such cases is detrimental to both law and order and public trust.

Changur Gang's Network

The investigation by the ATS also revealed that the Changur gang operated in an organized manner. Their objective was to target vulnerable young people and convert them. The possibility of a large funding network behind this has also been suggested. After evidence was found against Changur and his associates, the entire racket was cracked down upon and several arrests were made.

Siddiqui's Role in the Meerut Case Investigation

In the 2019 case of kidnapping and conversion of a girl in the Civil Lines police station area of Meerut, the name of Badar Akhtar Siddiqui, a member of the Changur gang, had surfaced. When the victim's family reached the police station to register an FIR, Abdul Rahman Siddiqui was the station in-charge. It is alleged that he not only refused to register the case but also threatened the family members and drove them away from the police station. This matter has now been reopened in the ATS investigation, and evidence of Siddiqui's negligence has emerged.
