Gold Rises Above ₹1.43 Lakh on MCX as COMEX Gold and Silver Gain

Gly. COMEX Gold traded around US$4,093 per ounce, while MCX Gold remained above ₹1.43 lakh per 10 grams. MCX Silver later traded around ₹2,24,550 per kilogram, reflecting continued price volatility.

Gold and silver prices witnessed significant volatility throughout the previous week. After opening the week with gains, both precious metals recorded sharp declines during the final trading sessions.

On the first trading day of the week, Monday, 27 July, gold and silver prices advanced in both international and domestic markets. The rebound followed last week's volatility and decline in precious metal prices. In the domestic market, gold on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) traded above ₹1.43 lakh per 10 grams.

Market participants are now focused on global economic conditions, interest rates, movements in the US dollar, and geopolitical developments, as these factors frequently influence international gold and silver prices and, in turn, the Indian market.

Gold prices strengthened in international markets on Monday morning. According to the available data, COMEX Gold was trading at around US$4,093 per ounce as of approximately 9:00 a.m., up about 0.56%. Gold prices had experienced volatility over the previous trading sessions.

The gains at the start of the week are being viewed as a sign of improving market sentiment. However, future movements in gold prices could continue to be influenced by global economic data and central bank monetary policy decisions.

Silver prices also moved higher in international markets alongside gold. COMEX Silver was trading at around US$59.675 per ounce, up approximately 1.31%.

Silver price movements are often associated with indicators of industrial demand and investment demand. The metal is widely used in electronics, solar energy, and several other industrial sectors, making its prices sensitive to both investor activity and global industrial trends.

Gold prices also rose in India's domestic futures market. On MCX, gold was trading at around ₹1,43,784 per 10 grams, up approximately ₹678 or about 0.67%.

Gold prices had remained under pressure during several sessions last week. The recovery after Monday's market opening renewed investor attention on the bullion market.

However, futures prices change continuously during the trading session. As a result, prices available at the time of publication may differ from prevailing market prices later in the session.

Silver prices in the domestic market also witnessed volatility. According to available MCX data, silver was trading at around ₹2,24,550 per kilogram at approximately 9:00 a.m., down ₹2,142.

It should be noted that the initial information indicated gains in silver prices, while the subsequent MCX data reflected a decline. Accordingly, investors should verify live MCX prices before making any trading decisions.
