A speeding Bullet motorcycle struck two sisters who were walking along a roadside in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, resulting in the death of one woman and serious injuries to the other. The sisters had come to their parental home to attend a wedding ceremony being held in the family.
According to information provided, the two women had stepped out of the house for some work when a Bullet rider travelling at high speed hit them. The impact threw both women onto the road, leaving them seriously injured. People nearby rushed them to a hospital.
Doctors declared one of the women dead upon arrival, while the condition of the other remains critical. She is undergoing treatment and is under continuous medical observation. Family members reached the hospital after receiving information about the accident.
Relatives said the deceased had arrived at her parental home only a few days earlier. Wedding preparations were underway and the family was engaged in the celebrations before the incident occurred.
Upon receiving information about the accident, Uttar Pradesh Police reached the spot and began an investigation. Police have taken possession of the motorcycle involved in the crash. Officials said efforts are underway to identify the Bullet rider and necessary legal action will be taken against him.
Local residents said road accidents frequently occur in the area due to speeding vehicles. They have urged the administration to take stricter road safety measures and act against those driving at excessive speeds.
Police are continuing their investigation. The body of the deceased has been sent for post-mortem examination, while the injured woman remains under treatment.
