Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju stated that essential bills are not being passed in Parliament due to the opposition's uproar. The government is now considering passing bills without the opposition's cooperation.
New Delhi: Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju recently made a significant statement regarding the opposition's uproar in Parliament. He said that the opposition is obstructing the proceedings of the Parliament, making it difficult to pass essential bills. The government is now considering passing those bills in the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha on its own.
Opposition's Uproar Hinders Parliament Proceedings
Since the beginning of the monsoon session, the opposition has consistently tried to corner the government. Protests have continued both inside and outside Parliament. Opposition parties are disrupting the proceedings of Parliament, causing several important bills to be pending.
Union Minister Kiren Rijiju stated in a press conference that the opposition, especially led by Congress, is halting the proceedings of the Parliament. He alleged that the opposition only creates uproar in the House and shows no interest in discussing issues of public interest.
Government to Plan Passing Bills
The government is now going to take necessary steps to deal with this situation. Kiren Rijiju informed that the government is now preparing to pass the necessary bills without the cooperation of the opposition. He says that Parliament and the country's time cannot be wasted behind an issue every time. The government wants to pass the necessary bills in the interest of the country on time.
Opposition's Lack of Interest a Matter of Concern
Kiren Rijiju said that the government wanted proper discussion on the necessary bills in Parliament, but both Houses were adjourned due to continuous disruptions by the opposition. Seeing this, it seems that the opposition is not seriously considering issues related to public interest. They are more interested in protests than in the House.
He cited the example of the opposition to the Election Commission's Special Intensive Revision (SIR) in Bihar, saying that it is not right to create uproar on the same issue every day. The opposition should raise issues within Parliament and work towards a solution.
Which Bills are Pending?
The Union Minister informed that several important bills including the Income Tax Bill, National Sports Governance Bill, Merchant Shipping Bill, National Anti-Doping (Amendment) Bill, Manipur GST (Amendment) Bill are currently pending in both the Houses. These bills are necessary for the economic and social development of the country.
