Bhojpuri superstar and popular singer Pawan Singh's return to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is almost confirmed. Bihar in-charge Vinod Tawde clarified that Pawan Singh was and will remain with the BJP.
Patna: Bhojpuri superstar Pawan Singh's return to the BJP is now considered almost certain. Bihar in-charge Vinod Tawde has explicitly stated that Pawan Singh was and will remain with the BJP. In Delhi, Vinod Tawde and Rituraj Sinha arranged a meeting between Pawan Singh and Rashtriya Lok Morcha (RLM) chief Upendra Kushwaha, which is being seen as an attempt at reconciliation.
During this meeting, Pawan Singh touched Upendra Kushwaha's feet to seek his blessings. This gesture is believed to be crucial in resolving the bitterness that arose during the Lok Sabha elections and strengthening unity within the party.
Meeting with Upendra Kushwaha in Delhi
Recently, Pawan Singh met with Rashtriya Lok Morcha (RLM) chief Upendra Kushwaha in Delhi. This meeting is being considered an attempt at reconciliation. According to information, Pawan Singh also touched Upendra Kushwaha's feet to seek his blessings during the meeting. BJP leaders Vinod Tawde and Rituraj Sinha played the role of mediators in this gathering.
Possibility of Contesting from Arrah Assembly Seat
Political analysts suggest that Pawan Singh might contest from the Arrah Assembly seat as an NDA candidate. If this happens, the BJP could benefit in the 22 assembly seats of the Shahabad region (Bhojpur, Buxar, Rohtas, Kaimur). In the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, Pawan Singh's independent candidacy caused damage to BJP candidates in several areas. In Karakat, Upendra Kushwaha finished third, while Mahagathbandhan's Rajaram Singh secured the victory. Pawan Singh's presence also created a challenge for the BJP in seats like Buxar and Sasaram.
Pawan Singh's return to the BJP holds significant political importance. His inclusion will strengthen the NDA in Bhojpuri-speaking regions. This is likely to provide strategic advantages to the party in the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections in 2025. Pawan Singh recently met former Union Minister and BJP leader R.K. Singh in Arrah. During this meeting, R.K. Singh stated that Pawan Singh should join the BJP. In an interview, Pawan Singh also praised opposition leader Tejashwi Yadav, describing him as a grassroots leader.
