The Kumbhabhishekam ritual has commenced after twelve years at the Maa Vishalakshi Temple, located in the Mirghat area of Varanasi. Within the temple premises, special prayers and Kalasha Sthapana (pot installation) ceremonies were completed amidst Vedic chants from the morning. A team of Vedic scholars from South India is conducting the rituals with full traditional rites and procedures.
Keeping the Kumbhabhishekam in mind, the temple has undergone extensive renovation and beautification. New decorative works have been carried out from the sanctum sanctorum to the main entrance. Alongside this, preparations are also underway for the Pran Pratistha (consecration ceremony) of newly installed idols within the temple premises.
The main events of the rituals will be held in the coming days, with the installation of the golden kalasha (pot) and special anointing ceremonies being the main attractions. The crowd of devotees is continuously increasing, and the temple management has made special arrangements to ensure smooth darshan (viewing of the deity). According to devotees, this grand ritual, taking place after twelve years, has created a special atmosphere of divinity and devotion throughout the entire premises.
