Elevators Malfunction in Greater Noida Society, Trapping Residents Including Elderly and Child

Due to a power outage in Fusion Homes Society in Greater Noida West, elevators in two towers got stuck. An elderly person, a woman, and a child were trapped in the elevator of the A-tower for about half an hour, after which the elevator descended rapidly. An elderly person and a child were also trapped in the E-tower for about 10 minutes.

Noida: Incidents of elevators getting stuck in high-rise societies are continuously raising questions about people's safety. On Monday, a total of five people, including elderly individuals, a woman, and children, were trapped in elevators of two separate towers due to a power outage at Fusion Homes Society located in Sector Techzone-4. The elevator in A-tower even fell rapidly, putting the lives of those inside in danger. However, fortunately, everyone was safely rescued.

3 people trapped in A-tower for half an hour

The first incident occurred in the A-tower of Fusion Homes, where the elevator suddenly stopped between the second floor. At that time, an elderly person, a woman, and a child were inside the elevator. They were going from the ground floor to the 15th floor, but the elevator got stuck midway.

The three of them remained trapped inside for about half an hour. They pressed the alarm and banged on the doors, pleading for help from outside, but no one heard them. Exhausted, they were trapped inside in a state of panic. Meanwhile, the elevator suddenly fell to the ground floor with a loud noise. Fortunately, no one sustained serious injuries in this incident. However, after exiting, all three were in a distressed state and appeared terrified.

Two people also trapped in E-tower

On the same day, another incident occurred in the E-tower of the society. Here, the elevator suddenly stopped, trapping an elderly person and a child for about 10 minutes. This time, the security personnel present at the scene immediately rescued them safely with the help of the alarm and manual system.

Residents state that incidents of getting stuck in elevators occur frequently. Despite this, the builder and management do not pay attention to it. This situation is extremely dangerous for children and the elderly. People have demanded that regular inspection and maintenance of elevators be ensured.

Residents target builder and AOA

Following this incident, the anger of the society's residents erupted. They stated that the elevators are not being maintained properly. Despite complaining several times, the builder and AOA (Apartment Owners Association) blame each other.

People also raised questions about the ARD (Automatic Rescue Device) system installed in the elevators. They said that this system does not work when the power goes out, even though it is installed for passenger safety. Residents have warned that if corrective measures are not taken in time, they will register a collective protest.

Fear of elevator accidents in Greater Noida

Elevator-related incidents are not new in the high-rise societies of Greater Noida West. In the past few months, there have been several reports of people getting trapped in different societies. Each time, assurances are given to take the matter seriously, but no concrete steps are taken on the ground.

The recent case at Fusion Homes has once again raised questions about the responsibility of the administration and the builders. Local residents say that if the technical flaws in the elevators are not rectified soon, a major accident cannot be ruled out.
