GSB Seva Mandal has secured a record insurance cover of ₹474.46 crore for Ganeshotsav 2025. This includes coverage for gold and silver, personal accident, fire, earthquake, and public liability. Priests, volunteers, and security personnel are also included in the insurance.
Mumbai: The GSB Seva Mandal, located in King's Circle, has set a new record for this year's Ganeshotsav. The Mandal has taken out insurance totaling ₹474.46 crore, significantly higher than last year's cover of ₹400 crore. This massive insurance amount includes coverage for several critical risks such as gold and silver ornaments, personal accident, fire, earthquake, and public liability.

₹375 Crore Accident Insurance Implemented
GSB Seva Mandal has taken an all-risk insurance package from New India Assurance. This policy mainly includes gold, silver, and precious gems, personal accident, loss from fire and earthquake, and public liability.
The ₹375 crore personal accident cover is the largest component, providing protection to the Mandal's priests, volunteers, cooks, and security staff. In addition, a ₹30 crore public liability cover will apply to the pandal, stadium, and devotees. A ₹43 lakh fire and special risk cover also ensures the security of the event venue.
Insurance Amount Increased Due to Rising Gold and Silver Prices
This time, the insurance amount for the jewelry has been kept at ₹67 crore, while it was ₹43 crore in 2024 and ₹38 crore in 2023. According to Mandal President Amit Pai, this amount has increased due to the rising price of gold and silver and the inclusion of more volunteers and priests in the cover.
Notably, 24-carat gold was ₹77,000 per 10 grams last year, while this time it has reached ₹1.02 lakh. This year, Ganpati Bappa will be adorned with 66 kg of gold and 336 kg of silver jewelry.
Preparation for Security Arrangements at the Event
GSB Seva Mandal's Ganeshotsav will be held from August 27 to 31. This time, separate entry arrangements have been made for donors to provide them with a safe and convenient experience. A professional agency has been appointed for crowd control and security.
In addition, complete preparations have been made to protect the event venue from fire, earthquake, and other emergency situations. Special attention has been given to the training of security personnel and volunteers.
