The allegation was that the police had tried to protect the accused in a fraud case by taking a bribe. In this case, four people, including the Karni Sena district president, were arrested and sent to jail.

The incident began with a fraud case in which Ashish Rajput, a resident of Harda, had lodged a complaint. Ashish said that on the advice of a Pandit, he decided to wear a diamond. After this, a young man named Mohit Verma offered him a deal for a diamond worth 18 lakh rupees. Mohit called him to Indore and there he introduced him to Vicky Lodhi and Umesh Tapaniya. The diamond was found to be genuine after examination at a jeweler's shop, but later he was given a fake diamond in Mumbai.
After this fraud, the accused gave Ashish checks which bounced in the bank. After this, the police registered a case and arrested the accused and presented the challan in the court on Saturday. But the Karni Sena alleges that the police took two and a half lakh rupees in this case to protect the accused.
The protest outside the police station became violent, police used force
Under the leadership of Karni Sena district president Sunil Singh Rajput, the workers reached outside the City Kotwali police station for a protest. Here, a heated argument took place between the police and the protesters. When the matter escalated, the police used force to disperse the protesters.
The police used water cannons, tear gas, and a baton charge. During this, there was chaos at the spot. The video of the baton charge went viral on social media. The police have registered a case against four people under sections of rioting and causing disturbance to peace and sent them to jail.

Annoyed by the police action, Karni Sena workers gathered on the Harda State Highway. They sat on the road and collectively started reciting the Hanuman Chalisa. The protesters demanded that the district president be released immediately and the police officers who carried out the lathi charge be suspended.
Karni Sena worker Rajendra Rana said that the protest was completely peaceful but the police showed brutality. He alleged that the police took unilateral action and sent our leaders to jail without any reason.
Police clarification
Harda's Additional SP RD Prajapati said that the accused was arrested and the challan was presented in the court and he was sent to jail. He said that after this action, some people gathered outside the police station and were obstructing the work of the court premises.
Prajapati said that these people tried to assault and threaten to kill the accused. There was also a scuffle with the police, so light force had to be used. He said that four people have been sent to jail and a case will be registered against the others under the rioting sections.
