Haryana Approves ₹1763 Crore for Development Projects: Focus on Electricity, Education, and Law Enforcement

Several significant improvements will be made to enhance the electricity distribution system in Haryana. This includes replacing all dilapidated old wires, poles, and transformers to ensure uninterrupted and high-quality power supply.

Chandigarh: The Haryana government has approved ₹1763 crore to give new impetus to development works in the state. This amount was sanctioned for various departments' development projects at a meeting of the High Powered Purchase Committee (HPPC) chaired by Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini. The approval includes the modernization of the electricity distribution system in the state, increasing the number of vehicles in the police force, and providing free sanitary napkins to girls in government schools.

Extensive Improvements in Electricity Distribution System

The Haryana government has decided to replace old and dilapidated wires, poles, transformers, and other equipment to improve the electricity distribution system. A sum of ₹234 crore will be spent by Dakshin Haryana and Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigams to purchase LT XLPE armored cables, poles, and 20 KVA transformers. This initiative will not only stabilize the power supply but also reduce the incidents of power cuts.

Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has clearly stated that the quality of all electrical equipment will be checked in recognized labs. Strict action will be taken against the concerned agency if any equipment sample fails to meet the quality standards. The government is paying special attention to durability and safety, ensuring full compliance with safety standards.

Promoting Women's Education: Free Sanitary Napkins for Girls

With the aim of promoting women's education and health, the Haryana government has also decided to provide free sanitary napkins to girls from class VI to XII in government schools. This step will not only raise awareness about the health and hygiene of the girls but will also help in improving their attendance and studies in school.

This initiative will create a better educational environment for girls in Haryana and promote social equality. Women and Child Development Minister Shruti Choudhary has described this scheme as an important part of women's health rights.

New Vehicle Fleet for Police Force

To strengthen law and order, the Haryana government has decided to purchase 35 new 52-seater buses and 6 mini-buses for the police department at a cost of ₹12 crore. This will further enhance the deployment of police personnel, their related activities, and their reach among the public. Energy and Transport Minister Anil Vij said that this purchase of police vehicles will speed up the security arrangements and the police force will be able to serve the public more dynamically.

The Haryana government plans to spend approximately ₹3.25 crore to increase cloud server and storage capacity to strengthen digital services and e-governance. This modernization will increase the transparency, speed, and efficiency of government services. Education Minister Mahipal Dhanda said that through digital platforms, the government will be able to provide better and faster services to the citizens, which will improve the overall administrative capacity of the state.

Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini clarified in the meeting that all development works should be completed within the stipulated time frame. He emphasized better utilization of financial resources and a transparent procurement system so that quality services can be provided to the public. He also directed that quality should be given priority in all procurement processes and strict action should be taken if any material does not meet the standards.
