Heavy Rainfall Alert Issued for Northwest India and Several Other States

The monsoon season has become active across the country, and the Meteorological Department has issued a heavy rainfall alert for several states, including Northwest India. Gujarat, Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Delhi-NCR are likely to experience rainfall for the next seven days.

Weather Forecast: The monsoon season is ongoing across the country. Maharashtra, Assam, Meghalaya, and Manipur are currently experiencing heavy rainfall, while people in Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, and Bihar are facing humid heat. The IMD has predicted an increase in rainfall in Northwest India from August 23rd to 26th. 

On August 23rd, Gujarat and Southeast Rajasthan are likely to experience heavy to very heavy rainfall, while some places in Eastern Rajasthan may experience extremely heavy rainfall.

Weather in Delhi-NCR

The weather in Delhi and surrounding areas is changing once again. The bright sunshine in the morning turns into dense clouds and rain by the afternoon. According to the Meteorological Department (IMD), Delhi-NCR is likely to experience a period of drizzle with thunderstorms from August 23rd to August 27th. This is expected to provide relief from humidity and heat to the city dwellers, although waterlogging and local traffic disruptions are possible in several areas.

Uttar Pradesh has been experiencing intense heat for the past few days. According to the IMD, the eastern and western parts of the state are likely to experience heavy rainfall from August 23rd to 25th. This will provide relief from the heat, but people living near rivers and streams need to be vigilant.

Weather Forecast for Bihar and Uttarakhand

The monsoon will also be active in Bihar for the next two days. Heavy rainfall is expected in the state on August 23rd. Waterlogging in low-lying areas and urban flooding may occur. The Meteorological Department has appealed to people to remain vigilant and follow the instructions of the local administration. Uttarakhand has been severely affected by the monsoon this time. 

Due to continuous rainfall and cloudburst incidents in the state, many people have lost their lives and homes have been washed away. The Meteorological Department has issued a heavy rainfall alert for the next seven days. Extremely heavy rainfall is likely at several places from August 23rd to 24th.

Weather in Northwest India

Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, Jammu & Kashmir, and Western Rajasthan are also likely to experience heavy rainfall and thunderstorms at several places between August 23rd and 26th. During this period, people living in mountainous areas and near rivers need to be vigilant. Gujarat and Southeast Rajasthan are expected to experience heavy to very heavy rainfall until August 28th. In addition, Konkan, Goa, and the Ghat areas of Central Maharashtra are likely to experience heavy rainfall and possibly rain with b winds from August 26th to 28th.
