Sonam Raghuwanshi News: The mystery surrounding the murder of Indore resident Raja Raghuwanshi has been solved. Raja was murdered in Meghalaya while on his honeymoon, the plot orchestrated by his wife, Sonam Raghuwanshi, who was present at the scene. The Indore Crime Branch arrested four individuals involved in the murder, all of whom have confessed to their crime. Interrogation revealed that Raja was murdered and his body was subsequently disposed of in a deep ravine. Raja's wife, Sonam, is believed to be the mastermind behind the entire conspiracy.

How was Raja Raghuwanshi Murdered?

Raja Raghuwanshi was murdered in Sohra, East Khasi Hills district, Meghalaya, where he was honeymooning with his wife, Sonam. He was reported missing on May 23rd, and his body was discovered in a ravine on June 2nd. Initially, it was presumed to be an accident, but the investigation revealed a premeditated plot.

Accused Confess to the Crime

The Indore Crime Branch stated that all four accused—Vishal aka Vicky Thakur, Akash, Anand, and Raj Kushwaha—confessed to their crime. During questioning, they revealed that after murdering Raja, they disposed of his body in a deep ravine to avoid suspicion.

The Crime Branch confirmed the confession, stating that Raja's wife, Sonam, was the main conspirator and was present at the scene of the murder.

Events Surrounding the Murder

According to the accused, the first blow was struck by Vishal Thakur. The attack was so forceful that Raja was severely injured immediately. The other accused then joined in, ultimately killing him.

Significantly, Sonam Raghuwanshi, Raja's new bride, was present throughout the murder, witnessing her husband's death. According to the accused, Sonam not only planned the murder but also actively participated in its execution.

How did the Accused Reach Meghalaya?

According to the Indore Crime Branch report, the accused traveled from Indore to Guwahati by train and then proceeded to Shillong. Since there is no direct train from Indore to Meghalaya, they had to change trains several times.

Raj Kushwaha, who remained in Indore, provided the three accused with approximately ₹40,000-50,000 for expenses in Meghalaya. Although he was not present at the scene, he was involved in the entire conspiracy and provided logistical support.

Attempt to Conceal Evidence After the Murder

After murdering Raja, the accused disposed of his body in a ravine to make it appear as if he had fallen to his death in the mountains. Furthermore, the clothes worn by Vishal during the murder were recovered from his home.

According to the Crime Branch, these clothes have been sent for forensic examination to confirm whether the bloodstains on them belong to Raja Raghuwanshi.

Sonam Apprehended in Ghazipur

Sonam fled after the murder. She was apprehended in Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh. During questioning, Sonam mentioned seeking help from a dhaba owner and attempting a robbery. She claimed to have no memory of how she reached Ghazipur.

However, the Crime Branch and Meghalaya Police are investigating the veracity of this statement. It remains unclear whether she returned to Indore from Meghalaya immediately after the incident.

Relationship Ended Just 12 Days After the Wedding

Raja Raghuwanshi and Sonam were married only 12 days prior to the incident. They went to Meghalaya for their honeymoon after the wedding. Raja was reported missing on May 23rd, prompting a police search. His body was found in a ravine on June 2nd. Police suspected foul play from the beginning, and the investigation ultimately led to a murder charge against Sonam and four others.
