Hyderabad witnessed a road incident on Wednesday after a moving car caught fire on the PVNR Expressway. Rajendranagar Police reached the spot promptly, carried out a rescue operation, brought the fire under control, and ensured there were no casualties.
The incident occurred near Pillar No. 278 under the jurisdiction of Rajendranagar Police Station. The car was travelling towards Mehdipatnam when smoke began emerging from the engine compartment before flames erupted.
According to eyewitnesses, the vehicle was moving at a normal speed when smoke suddenly started coming from the engine. The driver immediately pulled over to the side of the road and exited the vehicle. Within moments, the engine caught fire. As the expressway was carrying heavy traffic, there were concerns that the fire could spread or involve other vehicles. Members of the public alerted the police and emergency services.
Rajendranagar Police responded immediately after receiving the information. Officers first stopped nearby vehicles at a safe distance and regulated traffic to prevent any secondary incident.
