Hyundai Verna: Hyundai is set to introduce the facelift model of its mid-size sedan, Verna, in the Indian market soon, with its first glimpse expected in early 2026. The new Verna will include updated signature LED taillamps, a new rear bumper, and a larger grille, projector headlamps, and LED DRLs at the front. The interior may offer a larger infotainment display, wireless smartphone mirroring, and updated ADAS safety features. The engine lineup will remain similar to the previous model, comprising 1.5-liter petrol and turbo petrol options. The new Verna will compete with cars like the Honda City, Skoda Slavia, and Volkswagen Virtus.

Changes in Exterior Design

The new Verna will feature the same signature taillamps at the rear, extending across the car's width. However, new LED elements will be incorporated, making the look sharper and more attractive. The rear bumper will also receive a new design, making it appear more stylish than before.

Spy shots of the facelift model have so far focused on the rear design. However, significant changes are also expected in the front look. Experts believe that the new Verna's front design will be inspired by the Hyundai Elantra and Sonata. It may feature an even larger and bolder front grille, bigger projector headlamps, and sleek LED DRLs.

Interior and Features

Major changes to the new Verna's interior are less likely. However, Hyundai might add some new features, including a larger infotainment display, a new instrument cluster, wireless smartphone mirroring, and an updated ADAS safety suite.

The current model of Verna starts at an ex-showroom price of ₹10.69 lakh. Prices may see a slight increase after the facelift model arrives. Upon launch, it will compete with cars like the Honda City, Skoda Slavia, and Volkswagen Virtus.

Engine Options

The new Verna's engine lineup will be similar to the outgoing model. It will feature a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine, producing 113 bhp of power and 144 Nm of torque. This will be paired with either a 6-speed manual or an IVT gearbox.

Additionally, a more powerful 1.5-liter turbo petrol engine will also be available. This engine will generate 158 bhp of power and 253 Nm of torque. It will be offered with a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed DCT gearbox.

Why the New Model is Special

The objective of the new Verna facelift is not limited to design updates. It aims to attract customers with an enhanced driving experience and new features. The new LED elements and updated front grille will improve the car's road presence and style.

Inside, the new instrument cluster and larger touchscreen display will enhance the technological experience. The convenience of wireless smartphone mirroring will prove beneficial for younger buyers.
