Registration to Begin on August 28th
According to the official website of IIT Guwahati, GATE 2026 registrations will now commence on August 28th, 2025. Candidates can apply without a late fee until September 26th, 2025. If a candidate misses the deadline, they can fill out the form with a late fee until October 9th, 2025.
Exam Dates and Result Date
The GATE 2026 examination will be held on February 7th, 8th, 14th, and 15th, 2026. After the examination is completed, the result will be declared on March 19th, 2026. This will help candidates in the subsequent admission and job processes.

Who Can Apply
Candidates who are in the third year or a higher year of any undergraduate degree program can apply for GATE 2026. Application Fee Details
Any form submitted without the application fee will not be considered valid. The fee details are as follows:
General Candidates:
- During the Regular Period: ₹1200
- During the Extended Period: ₹2500
SC/ST/PwD Candidates:

- During the Extended Period: ₹1500
Candidates are advised to apply on time to avoid late fees.

- Certificates of all educational qualifications
- Colored passport-size photograph
- Scanned copy of signature
