This action was taken due to the newspaper's dissemination of propaganda against India. Global Times published several unverified and misleading reports about the Indian army amidst ongoing tensions with Pakistan, claims that the Indian government bly refuted.

Amidst escalating tensions between India and Pakistan, the central government blocked the X handle of China's state-run Global Times on Wednesday. The government alleged that Global Times made false and misleading claims about the Indian army.
Furthermore, it was also alleged that the newspaper published false claims from Pakistan without verification. India had previously warned against the spread of such misinformation.
India Issued Prior Warning
The Indian government had previously warned Global Times (Global Times X Account) against propagating false news. The Indian embassy also posted on social media, advising the newspaper to thoroughly verify facts and ensure reliable sources before publishing any information. Despite this warning, Global Times spread misinformation regarding Operation Sindur, forcing India to take b action.
Refutation of China's Claims on Operation Sindur
Amidst the ongoing conflict between India and Pakistan, China's Global Times made false and unsubstantiated claims related to Operation Sindur. These claims, linked to the Pakistani Air Force, were included in Global Times' reports without any credible sources. India considered this a serious lapse in responsible journalism. The embassy tweeted, "When media outlets share such information without verifying sources, it violates the ethics of journalism."

Operation Sindur is the name of a significant military operation conducted by the Indian army. Despite false claims issued by Pakistan, India maintained complete transparency and accuracy in its operation. However, Global Times and some other media outlets attempted to spread fabricated news without facts. India bly opposed these reports, characterizing them as attempts to mislead.
