New Delhi: Hours after a ceasefire agreement was reached between India and Pakistan, Pakistan violated it, escalating tensions between the two nations. Following this incident, Prime Minister Narendra Modi convened a high-level meeting. Attendees included Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, the chiefs of the three armed forces, National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval, and Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Anil Chauhan. The meeting's primary objective was to assess the post-ceasefire situation and strategize a response to Pakistan's actions.
Pakistan Violates Ceasefire
Within hours of the ceasefire announcement between India and Pakistan, Pakistan violated it, initiating cross-border shelling. India immediately retaliated, prompting Pakistan to cease drone and missile attacks. India stated that these Pakistani border violations were serious and could impact security.
Outcome of PM Modi's Meeting
Prime Minister Narendra Modi's meeting addressed several crucial issues, including the incidents involving drones and missiles launched by Pakistan. Discussions also covered India's military preparedness and security concerns related to Pakistan. This meeting was PM Modi's third high-level meeting in three days, convened in response to Pakistan's violations.
External Affairs Minister Jaishankar's Response
Responding to the situation, India's External Affairs Minister, S. Jaishankar, stated that India has always maintained a b stance against terrorism and will continue to do so. He added that any terrorist activity by Pakistan would be considered a threat to India's security and an "Act of War".
India's Strong Response to Pakistan's Ceasefire Violation
India clarified that drones launched by Pakistan were observed in Jammu and Kashmir, Gujarat, and parts of Rajasthan, and were subsequently destroyed by Indian security forces. India took Pakistan's ceasefire violation seriously and warned of taking all necessary steps to ensure its security.
India's Firm Rebuttal
India sent a clear message to Pakistan that if it continues its aggressive activities, India will take even ber measures to ensure its security. Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri, in a press briefing on the issue, stated that India viewed Pakistan's ceasefire violation with utmost seriousness.
While US President Donald Trump had announced the ceasefire, the US response following Pakistan's violation has been limited. India has adopted a firm strategy to deal with Pakistan, and any future terrorist activity will be considered an act of war.
