India Extends Airspace Ban on Pakistan Amidst Rising Tensions

In Gwalior, a speeding car ran over devotees during the Kanwar Yatra, resulting in 4 deaths and 2 serious injuries. Enraged people blocked the road and protested against the administration.

India or Pakistan: India has once again sent a clear message to Pakistan by extending the ban on its civilian and military aircraft from entering Indian airspace until August 23, 2025. This decision is not merely diplomatic pressure, but is part of India's b policy against national security threats and terrorist activities. This decision comes at a time when Pakistan has repeatedly pleaded for a ceasefire after Operation Sindoor.

Ban Period Extended, NOTAM Updated

The Government of India provided information about this decision through Minister of State for Civil Aviation and Cooperation, Murlidhar Mahol, who wrote on social media platform X (formerly Twitter): 'Update on airspace restriction: The Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) banning Pakistani aircraft from entering Indian airspace will now remain in effect until August 23, 2025. This decision is necessary from both strategic and security points of view.'

From Terrorist Attack to Operation Sindoor

The entire sequence of events began with a gruesome terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, when Pakistan-sponsored terrorists killed 26 pilgrims after asking their religion. This attack shook the entire nation. In response, the Indian government took strict measures not only on the military front but also on the economic and diplomatic fronts. India launched a comprehensive military operation called 'Operation Sindoor'. In this, the Indian Air Force and the Army together destroyed Pakistan's terrorist camps and military bases through drones, missiles, and surgical strikes.

Airspace Ban: Strategic Economic Warfare

The airspace ban imposed by India has had a direct impact on Pakistan's airlines. Flights using Indian airspace to travel between Asia and Europe now have to take a longer route, which has increased their fuel costs, operating costs, and time. This ban is not only a diplomatic embarrassment for Pakistan but has also become an economic blow, further destabilizing its already fragile economy.

Indian Air Force's Border Exercise

India has not only extended the ban but has also announced a major military exercise near the India-Pakistan border in Rajasthan from July 23 to 25, 2025. Under this exercise, the readiness of the Indian Air Force will be tested in Barmer, Jaisalmer, Bikaner, and Sri Ganganagar. It is noteworthy that Pakistan tried to target these areas during Operation Sindoor, but India's air defense system foiled all the attacks.

Decisive Success of Operation Sindoor

India's retaliatory action caused deep strategic and military losses to Pakistan.

  • More than 100 terrorists were killed.
  • Many officers and soldiers of the Pakistani army were injured.
  • Many airbases and drone command centers were destroyed.
  • The Indian Army gave a befitting reply to Pakistan with air, land, and technical attacks.

Exasperated by this, Pakistan not only intensified attacks on the border but also pleaded for a ceasefire on international forums.

India's Clear Message: Now 'New Policy, New Approach'

This step by India confirms that normal relations with countries that promote terrorism are no longer possible. The airspace ban is a strategic step that is isolating Pakistan on every front. India is now moving away from a defensive policy to an active and aggressive strategy, which is a step towards a permanent solution against terrorism.
