TMC MP Kalyan Banerjee accuses BJP-ruled states of insulting Bengalis and forcibly sending them to Bangladesh. He also claimed that Gujaratis are trying to establish dominance in the country.
TMC vs BJP: Senior Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Kalyan Banerjee has leveled serious allegations against BJP-ruled states. Speaking to the media in Delhi, Banerjee said that Bengalis are being insulted across the country, especially in BJP-ruled states. He claimed that Bengalis are being discriminated against in these states and many are being forcibly sent to Bangladesh.
Targeting BJP while mentioning historical contributions
Kalyan Banerjee said that some people from Gujarat want to establish their dominance over the country. He said that Bengalis played a leading role in the freedom struggle, while Gujarat's presence was limited at that time. He stated that today, under the leadership of the BJP, efforts are being made to sideline Bengalis.
"Bengalis have always been the backbone of the country. No one can deny the role of Bengalis in the freedom struggle. BJP-ruled states want to remove us by calling us Bangladeshis. This is not just an insult but also an insult to historical truth," Banerjee said.
Uproar in Parliament, protest by TMC and other opposition parties
On Wednesday, both the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha witnessed a major uproar. Questions on the review of voter list in Bihar
The TMC and other opposition parties allege that there is a lack of transparency in the special review process of the voter list in Bihar. They believe that the BJP is manipulating voter data through this process for its own political gain. This issue led to protests in both houses of Parliament.
Lok Sabha Speaker's b remarks
Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla made b remarks on the behavior of opposition MPs. He said that Parliament is for dialogue and discussion, not for placards and slogans. Birla warned that if this behavior continues, action will be taken against the concerned MPs. He said, "The country is watching your conduct. We must maintain decorum."
