India Weather Update: Heavy Rainfall Alert Issued Across Multiple States

Monsoon activity has intensified once again in various parts of the country. While rainfall has provided relief to people in many states, waterlogging and traffic problems are also being observed in some places.

Weather Forecast: The monsoon has once again gained momentum in India. A period of heavy rain is continuing in the northern, central, and eastern states of the country. The Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a heavy rain warning for the next few days in several states, including Rajasthan, Odisha, Bihar, Punjab, Haryana, and Delhi. While people are getting relief from the heat and humidity in most parts of the country, there is also apprehension of waterlogging and traffic disruptions in low-lying areas due to heavy rains.

Delhi-NCR: Cloudy Skies, Rain Cycle Reactivated in Rajasthan

The sky remained cloudy in the capital Delhi on Friday, and humidity persisted in the atmosphere. The Meteorological Department has predicted light rain with thunderstorms and cloud movement for the next few days. This may cause a slight drop in temperature, but there is little hope of relief from the humidity. The weather system has once again become active in Rajasthan.

The low-pressure area formed in the Bay of Bengal has now turned into a depression, which is slowly moving westwards. Due to its effect, there is a possibility of heavy to very heavy rainfall in southeastern and eastern Rajasthan in the next few days.

  • From July 26 to July 31: Heavy rain will continue in eastern and southeastern Rajasthan.
  • July 27: Very heavy rainfall (More than 115 mm) is expected in some parts of southeastern Rajasthan.
  • Moderate to heavy rain may also occur at some places in western Rajasthan.

Heavy Rain Warning in Odisha

Due to the depression formed in the Bay of Bengal in Odisha, there is a possibility of heavy rain from 26 to 28 July. Light to moderate rain is predicted in many districts of the state, and some areas are warned of receiving more than 21 centimeters of rain. The local administration has been instructed to remain alert and prepare to deal with potential waterlogging.

Monsoon Also Active in Bihar, Punjab, Haryana, and Jharkhand

The monsoon has once again become active in Bihar, Punjab, Haryana, and Jharkhand. Light to moderate rain is occurring in many districts of Bihar, and heavy rain is expected in the next few days. The temperature has dropped in Punjab and Haryana due to partial clouds and scattered rain. Heavy rain is expected in many areas of Jharkhand, especially in the northern parts.

Rainfall Continues in Central India and Southern States

According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of heavy rain in these areas in the next 24 hours:

  • Gangetic West Bengal
  • Chhattisgarh
  • Madhya Pradesh
  • Vidarbha
  • Telangana
  • Konkan and Goa
  • South Gujarat
  • Coastal areas of Kerala and Karnataka

Farmers in these areas have been advised to monitor waterlogging conditions for the safety of crops and to stop irrigation work for the time being.

Light to Moderate Rain in Hilly States of North India Too

There is also a possibility of rain in Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Sikkim, Jammu and Kashmir, and Ladakh. An appeal has been made to take precautions while traveling in these areas due to the possibility of landslides and road blockages. According to meteorologists, the monsoon activities are intensifying across the country due to the system formed in the Bay of Bengal. This system will remain active in the eastern, central, and north-western parts of the country for the next 2-3 days, resulting in widespread rainfall.
