World Update: India recently delivered a stern response at the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC). Indian diplomat Kshitij Tyagi directly confronted both Switzerland and Pakistan. India made it clear that it is always prepared to protect its citizens and sovereignty and will not accept false accusations or advice from anyone.
India's Warning to Switzerland
During the 5th meeting of the 60th session of the UNHRC, Kshitij Tyagi issued a b warning to Switzerland. He stated that the allegations made by Switzerland against India regarding the protection of minorities and freedom of the media are false and misleading. He advised Switzerland to focus on its domestic issues, pointing out concerns such as racism, discrimination, and xenophobia.
India clarified that pluralism and diversity are embraced civilly in the world's largest democracy. India also conveyed its readiness to assist in addressing Switzerland's concerns but reiterated that it would not accept false accusations.
Pakistan Described as a Failed State
At the UN, Kshitij Tyagi launched a sharp attack on Pakistan as well, calling it a "dumping truck" of lies and a failed nation. He asserted that Pakistan thrives on terrorism and charity and has been a perpetrator of spreading instability.
Tyagi explained that India's responses to the Pahalgam attack, Pulwama, Uri, Pathankot, and Mumbai attacks were balanced and appropriate. He clarified that India will not take advice from countries that glorify terrorists or oppress minorities. India will continue to protect its citizens with unwavering resolve and safeguard its sovereignty.
India's Strong Rebuttal to Pakistan at the UN Previously
Kshitij Tyagi has previously responded robustly to Pakistan at the UN. During the 58th session of the UNHRC in February, he labeled Pakistan a failed nation dependent on international aid. He stated that Pakistan's so-called leaders and representatives consistently spread falsehoods. Pakistan's claims regarding Jammu and Kashmir are baseless and malicious and cannot be accepted on any international platform.
India's Message on Terrorism
Tyagi also referred to the Pahalgam attack during this address. He noted that Pakistan had glorified terrorists and called them martyrs. India reminded the world that this would be recorded in history, and India would never forget it. He clarified that India would confront terrorism and terrorists firmly and could not ignore warnings from any country sponsoring terrorism.
