India Rejects Mediation with Pakistan, Prioritizes Farmers and National Security: S Jaishankar

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar has stated that India will not accept any mediation in the India-Pakistan dispute. The government will take all possible steps for the benefit of farmers and national security.

S Jaishankar: External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar has made a clear statement on the issue of tension and conflict between India and Pakistan. He said that India will not accept any kind of mediation. Jaishankar also stated that this decision is not only the government's but also a part of the country's national consensus.

He emphasized that when it comes to the interests of farmers, trade, and strategic autonomy, the government is completely clear and no compromise will be made. Jaishankar said that if anyone disagrees with India's stance, they should clarify that they are not ready to protect the interests of farmers and the security of the country.

Trump's Claims of Ceasefire and India's Response

Former US President Donald Trump has repeatedly claimed that he brokered a ceasefire between India and Pakistan. He said that he prevented a potential nuclear war and reduced tensions between the two countries. However, India has repeatedly rejected these claims.

The decision for a ceasefire between India and Pakistan was not the result of mediation by any third country but through discussions between the DGMOs (Director General of Military Operations) of the armies of both countries. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also clarified in Parliament that the decision to stop Operation Sindoor was entirely India's and no foreign leader played a role in it.

Operation Sindoor and Losses to Pakistan

During Operation Sindoor, the Indian Army penetrated about 100 kilometers inside Pakistan and destroyed 9 terrorist hideouts. In this operation, Indian missiles targeted several Pakistani airbases and caused heavy damage to them. Despite this, Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir did not make any effort to maintain peace. Jaishankar said that India's action was only for security and the elimination of terrorism and no compromise would be made in this regard.

India's Strategic Autonomy

The External Affairs Minister stated that India's national consensus is that mediation by any third country will not be accepted. He said that India will take every step to protect its strategic autonomy, security, and the interests of farmers. Jaishankar clarified that the government is fully prepared and no compromise will be made for national interests.
