In view of the Bihar Assembly elections, political strategies and deliberations are ongoing within the Mahagathbandhan (Grand Alliance) regarding seat-sharing. Amidst this, Mukesh Sahani, chief of the Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP), has firmly asserted his demands.
Patna: Political activity has intensified within the Mahagathbandhan regarding seat-sharing and coordination among alliance partners in view of the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections. Amidst this, Mukesh Sahani, chief of the Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP), has made a significant statement regarding his party's demands. He clearly stated that his party will contest more than 30 seats, and he also demands the Deputy CM post.
Mukesh Sahani said, “No single party is the sole owner in our alliance. No one can dictate terms to anyone. If new allies are joining, everyone will have to compromise. Our party will contest more than 30 seats; we will not compromise on anything less than that. We want to form the government, and everyone in the alliance should get an opportunity on an equal footing.”

Mukesh Sahani also clarified that VIP made this decision after 6 rounds of meetings: the party will not contest fewer than 30 seats. He stated that initially, there was a thought of contesting 60 seats, but this could have caused discomfort among other alliance partners. Therefore, VIP took a balanced decision to contest 30 seats.
Sahani also stated that the party will contest a good number of seats and will not compromise on any figure under any circumstances. He emphasized, "No party is big or small. We will help our alliance partners, but no one will be forcefully pressured. Congress and Tejashwi ji will have to do all this voluntarily."
Deputy CM Post Also Demanded
Mukesh Sahani reiterated his party's demand for the Deputy CM post within the Mahagathbandhan. He stated that this demand is crucial to recognize VIP's role and contribution to the alliance. Sahani also clarified that VIP was ignored in the alliance last time, but this will not happen again.
He said, "Last time, a mistake was made by ignoring VIP. This time, neither we nor other parties will make that mistake. We do not need to take seat offers from anyone. We will contest the decided number of seats and stand firm on our rights."
