India has made history by winning the Squash World Cup 2025, defeating Hong Kong 3-0 in the final and becoming the first Asian nation to claim the title.

India has achieved another historic milestone in the world of sports before the end of 2025. The Indian Squash Team has created new history by winning the Squash World Cup 2025 title.

Sports News: The year 2025 has been recorded as another golden chapter in Indian sports history. The Indian team has won the Squash World Cup 2025 for the first time with a brilliant performance. In the final match, India defeated Hong Kong 3-0, not only winning the trophy but also achieving the glory of becoming the first Asian country to win the Squash World Cup.

This historic victory was recorded in the final played on Sunday, where Indian players showcased an excellent blend of experience, strategy, and confidence. Notably, India did not lose a single match throughout the tournament, fully proving its superiority.

India's Dominance in the Mixed-Team Format

The Squash World Cup 2025 was played in a mixed-team format, in which the combined contribution of male and female players proved decisive. Previously, the Indian team had never reached the final of this tournament. In 2023, India faced defeat in the semi-finals, but this time the team took to the field with full preparation, balance, and new confidence.

The second-seeded Indian team made its intentions clear in the group stage itself. India made a b start by defeating Switzerland and Brazil 4-0 in its initial matches. After that, in the quarter-finals, the Indian team defeated South Africa to enter the semi-finals. The semi-final match was considered the biggest challenge for India, as they were facing the two-time champions, Egypt. But the Indian players showed excellent game even under pressure and defeated Egypt 3-0 to secure a place in the final.

India's Clean Sweep in the Final

In the final match, India adopted an aggressive approach against Hong Kong from the beginning. First to take the court was India's experienced player Joshna Chinappa, who defeated Lee Ka Yi, ranked 37th in the world, 3-1, giving India a b lead. In the second match, Asian Games medalist Abhay Singh performed brilliantly, defeating Alex Lau 3-0.

Following this, in the third match, India's young sensation, 17-year-old Anahat Singh, impressed everyone with her confidence and technique. She defeated the world's 31st-ranked player, Tomato Ho, 3-0, securing the title for India. With this victory, India won the match 3-0, making it unnecessary for Velavan Senthilkumar to play.
