In the women's above 80 kg category, Nupur secured her place in the semifinals by defeating Uzbekistan's Oltinoy Sotimboeva by a margin of 4-1.
The 26-year-old Nupur, who is the granddaughter of legendary boxer Hawa Singh, had previously won a gold medal at the World Cup a few months ago. She received a direct entry into the quarterfinals of this tournament.

On Tuesday night, Jadumani Singh (48 kg) and Abinash Jamwal (65 kg) advanced to the men's quarterfinals with comfortable victories. However, Jugnu Ahlawat's (85 kg) campaign concluded in the first round after a loss against Robert McNulty of Scotland.
