South Africa Thrash Pakistan by 8 Wickets, Level ODI Series 1-1

In the second ODI played at Iqbal Stadium in Faisalabad, South Africa delivered a brilliant performance, defeating Pakistan by 8 wickets to level the three-match ODI series at 1-1.

SPORTS NEWS: South Africa comprehensively defeated Pakistan in the second ODI match played at Iqbal Stadium in Faisalabad. Thanks to Quinton de Kock's century, the team secured an 8-wicket victory with 59 balls to spare. This win levels the three-match series at 1-1, with the decisive third ODI scheduled for Saturday.

In the match, Pakistan captain Shaheen Afridi won the toss and elected to bat first, but the team could only manage 269 runs for 9 wickets in their 50 overs. Salman Ali Agha played the highest innings of 69 runs off 106 balls, while Saim Ayub contributed 53 runs and Mohammad Nawaz added 59 runs. However, captain Babar Azam (11) and Mohammad Rizwan (4) were dismissed cheaply, preventing Pakistan from setting a large total.

Pakistan's Innings: Salman Ali Agha's Resilient Half-Century

Pakistan captain Shaheen Shah Afridi won the toss and opted to bat first. However, this decision did not prove successful in setting a big score. Pakistan scored 269 runs for 9 wickets in the allotted 50 overs. Salman Ali Agha played the top knock for the team, scoring 69 runs off 106 balls, which included 6 fours.

Meanwhile, Saim Ayub contributed 53 runs and Mohammad Nawaz added 59 runs. However, star batsmen Babar Azam (11 runs) and Mohammad Rizwan (4 runs) departed early. The Pakistani batting lineup once again struggled with a lack of consistency. The absence of substantial partnerships and a dip in run rate during the middle overs prevented the team from crossing the 300-run mark.
