When to Expect the New Update

During the event, Apple announced that the iOS 26 update would start reaching users via Over-The-Air (OTA) from September 15. However, the company also clarified that not all features would be available in every language and region. Due to local laws and regulations, some features might be limited in different countries or regions.

Which Models Will Not Receive iOS 26

The company has clarified that certain older iPhone models will not receive this update. These include the iPhone Xs, iPhone Xs Max, and iPhone XR. Users of these models will have to continue with their current version or upgrade.

These Devices Will Receive the New Update

Apple has also released a list of supported devices for iOS 26. This includes the iPhone 11 series, iPhone 12 series, iPhone 13 series, iPhone 14 series, iPhone 15 series, iPhone 16 series, iPhone SE (2nd and 3rd generation), and the new iPhone 16e. This list indicates that the company is now covering models from at least the last five to six years.

Which Devices Support Apple Intelligence

For Apple Intelligence features, the iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, iPhone 16 Pro Max, and iPhone 16e models have been selected. This means that this advanced feature will only be available on newer and high-end models.

How to Download the Beta Version

Users who wish to try the beta version of iOS 26 need to sign in with their Apple ID in the Apple Developer Program. After registration, navigate to 'General' in the iPhone settings and open the 'Software Update' section. Here, the beta update option will be visible, through which you can directly download and install the beta version.
