Maharashtra Becomes India's Largest iPhone Market
The demand for iPhones in India continues to rise, and a new report has now clarified that Maharashtra is experiencing the highest iPhone sales. Between September 2024 and August 2025, over 25% of the total iPhones sold nationwide were bought in Maharashtra alone. Gujarat follows in second place with 11%, and Delhi is third with 10%. These figures indicate that Maharashtra is significantly ahead of other states in terms of iPhone sales.
Indian consumers have long had a fascination with iPhones. The long queues outside stores during every new series launch are a testament to this. This increasing demand has made India an important market for Apple.
Standard iPhone Models Most Preferred
The report indicates that Indian consumers are preferring standard iPhones over the more expensive Pro models. Standard models constitute approximately 86% of the total sales. This clearly shows that Indian buyers value brand appeal along with price.
This trend also demonstrates that Indian consumers are making more practical choices. The lower sales of Pro models imply that customers wish to purchase budget-friendly variants, prioritizing essential features.
Which Variants and Colors Are in Highest Demand
According to the report, 128GB and 256GB models are selling the most compared to iPhone variants with larger storage capacities (512GB and 1TB). This suggests that smaller storage models are more appealing to Indian customers based on their needs and budget.
Despite the availability of new and vibrant colors, customers are still preferring classic colors like blue, black, and white. Additionally, one in every five customers is purchasing a new model by exchanging an old iPhone, clearly indicating an upgrade trend.
