Indian Shooters Aim for Medals in Final ISSF World Cup Led by Jindal and Panwar

Indian shooters are set to compete in the fourth and final ISSF World Cup (Rifle and Pistol), which begins today, Tuesday, with aspirations of winning medals. This 24-member contingent will be led by Olympian rifle shooters Ramita Jindal and Divyansh Singh Panwar.

Sports News: The International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) World Cup 2025 is set to commence today, Tuesday. A 24-member contingent from India will participate in this competition, with Olympian rifle shooters Ramita Jindal and Divyansh Singh Panwar leading the Indian contingent. All eyes are on the preparations and performance of the Indian shooters.

India's Dominant Performance at the Asian Championship

India recently delivered a spectacular performance at the Asian Championship held in Shymkent, Kazakhstan. The Indian contingent secured a total of 31 medals, including 14 gold, 8 silver, and 9 bronze medals. Following this impressive showing, India ranked second in the medal tally, behind China. The success achieved at the Asian Championship has boosted the confidence of Indian athletes for the World Cup 2025. Experts believe that Indian shooters can achieve excellent results in this World Cup as well.

In this fourth and final leg of the ISSF World Cup (Rifle and Pistol), over 320 shooters from 42 countries will vie for medals in 10 events. The Indian contingent has decided to field new pairings in the mixed team events this time.

Challenge from China and Other Strong Teams

The competition is particularly intense this time as the Chinese team includes several Olympic champions. In particular, Sheng Lihao, the world record holder in the 10m Air Rifle and a Paris Olympic champion, will pose a significant challenge to the Indian shooters. Other b contenders for medals include experienced shooters from major countries such as Germany, Russia, Italy, and South Korea. In these encounters, the patience, consistency, and mental strength of the Indian athletes will prove to be decisive.
