Stock Market Today: The Indian stock market started positively on Thursday, the fourth trading day of the week. The BSE Sensex opened at 82,220 and was up 93.74 points at 81,951 in early trade, while the NSE Nifty opened at 25,142 and was showing a gain of 24.75 points at 25,075. On Wednesday, gains were recorded for the fifth consecutive day, and the Nifty 50 closed above 25,000 for the first time. In early trade, JWL, NIACL, and DPWIRES were among the top gainers, while NAZARA and OLAELEC were among the top losers.

Market Opening and Initial Trends

On Thursday, the BSE Sensex opened at 82,220.46 points. As of the time of writing, the Sensex was trading at 81,951.58, up 93.74 points, or 0.11 percent. Meanwhile, the NSE Nifty 50 opened at 25,142 and reached 25,075.30 in early trade, with a gain of 24.75 points.

In the previous session, i.e., Wednesday, the Sensex closed 213 points higher at 81,857, while the Nifty 50 reached the level of 25,050 with a gain of about 70 points. The Nifty crossed the 25,000 mark for the first time in history, which investors considered an important milestone.

Performance Over the Last 52 Weeks

The 52-week high of the BSE Sensex is 85,978.25. Its low level is recorded at 71,425.01. On the other hand, the 52-week high of the NSE Nifty 50 is 26,277.35 and the low is 21,743.65. These figures clearly show that the market has shown excellent growth in the past year and has created a tremendous return opportunity for investors.

Most Sector Indices in Green

In early trade, most of the Nifty's indices were seen trading in the green. There was a focus on buying in the banking, auto, real estate, and metal sectors. At the same time, some sectors like IT and Pharma saw slight selling.

Several companies made a b start in the early trade of the Sensex. Top gainers included JWL, NIACL, GMDCLTD, HAPPSTMNDS, and ABREL. These companies' shares saw gains in the early hours.

Meanwhile, the list of top losers included shares of NAZARA, CLEAN, OLAELEC, CARBORUNIV, and VAKRANGEE. Stocks of these companies showed pressure, and investors booked profits in early trade.

The top gainers on the NSE Nifty 50 included DPWIRES, DAVAN-RE1, RACLGEAR, JWL, and JAICORPLTD. The shares of these companies gave good profits to investors in early trade.

On the other hand, the top losers on the Nifty included NAZARA, HLEGLAS, HIRECT, OLAELEC, and SPCENET. These stocks were under pressure and saw a decline in the early hours.
