Indore Businessman Murdered in Meghalaya 12 Days After Wedding; Wife and Lover Arrested

Indore businessman Raja Raghuvanshi was murdered in Meghalaya 12 days after his wedding. His wife, Sonam, and her lover, Raj Kushwaha, are accused of conspiring in the murder. The police investigation is ongoing.

Sonam case: The mysterious murder of Indore businessman Raja Raghuvanshi during a honeymoon trip to Meghalaya has raised several questions for the police. Initially, the case appeared to be a love triangle and contract killing, with Raja's wife, Sonam, and her lover, Raj Kushwaha, identified as the main suspects. However, the police now suspect the story is far more complex.

Murder just 12 days after the wedding, police surprised

Raja Raghuvanshi married Sonam on May 11th, and they arrived in Meghalaya on May 21st. However, on May 23rd, they suddenly checked out of their homestay and disappeared. Raja's body was found in a ravine a few days later, turning the case into a murder investigation. The police question whether a wife could orchestrate such a large-scale conspiracy just 12 days after her wedding.

Not just a lover, financial motives also under suspicion

Police are now investigating whether financial reasons were behind the murder. Did Raja have any insurance policies or property disputes? Did Sonam or her family anticipate any financial gain? The police have intensified the investigation of financial records, bank transactions, and property documents.

Raja's family's accusation

Raja's father, Ashok Raghuvanshi, has demanded narco tests for Sonam's parents and brother. He claimed that immediately after the wedding, Sonam hung a strange amulet associated with black magic at home. The family suspects this was part of a larger conspiracy.

Phone call leads to arrest

After the murder, Sonam called her brother in Ghazipur, which allowed the police to trace her location. This call became the basis for her arrest. Police are now trying to understand why Sonam made the call—was she panicked, or was she under pressure?

Was Sonam under pressure herself?

A crucial aspect of the investigation is whether Sonam was under pressure from a larger gang or individual. Was she being blackmailed? The police are scrutinizing past conversations between her and Raj Kushwaha and the beginning of their relationship.

Special team leading the investigation

Given the complexity of the case, the Meghalaya police have formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT). The SIT is recreating the scene of the crime to determine the circumstances and manner of the murder.

The investigation involves a thorough examination of the accused's mobile call details, bank accounts, and location data. Police are trying to understand who was where, when, and with whom. Digital forensics is expected to yield further clues.
