In a posh area of Indore, property businessman Manoj Nagar was fired upon by assailants riding a bike and a car. He was injured in the attack, with a property dispute and old enmity cited as potential reasons.
Indore: Late Wednesday evening, a rapid firing incident took place in Suncity Colony, Indore, Madhya Pradesh. Property businessman and alleged land mafia Manoj Nagar was attacked by assailants on a bike and in a car. Before opening fire, the attackers threw chili powder into Nagar's eyes, rendering him helpless. He sustained three bullet wounds – to his hand and stomach. Manoj was immediately admitted to the hospital, where his condition is currently reported as out of danger.
Firing on Car in Suncity Colony
According to eyewitnesses, the incident occurred as Manoj Nagar was returning home in his car. As his vehicle reached the colony gate, a car blocked his path, and two helmet-clad assailants on motorcycles began firing. Before opening fire, the attackers incapacitated Manoj by throwing chili powder.
Of the three bullets, two struck his hand and one hit his stomach. The assailants also fired at Manoj as they fled. With the help of his companion Ram, Manoj was immediately rushed to the local Bombay Hospital. Doctors reported that his condition is currently stable and preparations for surgery are underway.
Police Begin Search for Assailants Using CCTV Footage
Indore DCP Kumar Prateek stated that the police have deployed multiple teams to search for the assailants and are scrutinizing CCTV footage from the area. Initial investigations suggest that a property dispute may be a significant motive behind this attack.
Police stated that the assailants will be identified and arrested soon. Additionally, Manoj's past disputes and his connections with notorious criminals are also under investigation. Officials confirmed that a detailed inquiry into the entire incident is ongoing.
Manoj Nagar's Criminal Record
According to available information, Manoj Nagar possesses a rather extensive criminal record. More than five cases are registered against him in the Khajrana police station area. He has been incarcerated four times previously, and his name has frequently surfaced in cases involving transactions worth crores (tens of millions) and illegal colonies.
Police believe that old enmity or disputes over illegal plots could be the motive behind this attack. Furthermore, Manoj's connections with notorious criminals, such as Babbu Chhabbu, have also been included in the police investigation. Based on this, it can be inferred that the incident was organized and premeditated.
