Sports News: The first season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) continues to be in the spotlight. A video of the controversial 'slapgate' incident from IPL 2008 was recently shared by former IPL Chairman Lalit Modi. He leaked this video during a podcast with former Australian cricketer Michael Clarke. The video clearly shows Harbhajan Singh slapping Sreesanth after the match concluded.

Following this, Sreesanth's wife, Bhuvneshwari, reacted angrily towards Lalit Modi and Michael Clarke. Now, Harbhajan Singh has criticized Lalit Modi for the leak and sharing of this video, bringing the matter back into the public eye.

The IPL 2008 Controversy

In the tenth match of IPL 2008, Kings XI Punjab and Mumbai Indians faced each other. After the match ended, Harbhajan Singh slapped his teammate Sreesanth. Harbhajan was immediately banned from the IPL for the remainder of the season following this incident. Recently, Lalit Modi shared this video in a podcast with former Australian cricketer Michael Clarke. The video clearly shows Harbhajan slapping Sreesanth immediately after the match.

After the video leak, Sreesanth's wife also expressed her anger on social media. She held Lalit Modi and Michael Clarke responsible for making the incident public. She stated that the incident was personal and old, and it was inappropriate to bring it before the public now.

Harbhajan Singh Responds

Now, Harbhajan Singh has also reacted to this controversy. Speaking to Instant Bollywood, he said, "The way the video was leaked is wrong. This should not have happened. There could be someone's vested interest behind it. People have forgotten what happened 18 years ago, but now people are being reminded of it." Harbhajan also admitted that he regrets his actions and that the incident is a cause of embarrassment for him.

The former Indian spinner further stated, "I feel very bad for whatever happened. We were playing, and everyone had something going on in their minds. Mistakes were made, and I am ashamed of it. It was an unfortunate incident. Humans make mistakes, and I made one too. I have prayed to Lord Ganesha to forgive me if I make any mistake again."
