Iran launched missiles at Israel, killing three people. In response, Israel warned that Tehran would be reduced to ashes if the attacks were repeated. The threat of war between the two countries has intensified.
Israel-Iran: The Middle East is once again teetering on the brink of a serious war. The ongoing tension between Iran and Israel appears to be escalating into open conflict. On Saturday morning, Iran launched retaliatory missile strikes on Israel, killing three Israeli civilians and injuring more than 19 others. The missile attacks have raised concerns not only in Israel but across the globe.
Iran's Retaliation
Iran fired approximately 200 ballistic missiles at Israel. Israel's air defense systems intercepted and destroyed most of the missiles, but some struck densely populated areas such as Tel Aviv and Jerusalem, resulting in casualties and damage to property.
Beilinson Hospital in Tel Aviv reported the death of one woman, while two other fatalities were also confirmed. Seven other injured individuals are receiving treatment at the hospital. According to Israel's fire service, one missile damaged a city building, while four other houses were severely impacted.
Israel's Counterattack
Prior to the Iranian missile attacks, Israel had conducted air strikes targeting Iranian nuclear facilities and military installations. Israel stated that these strikes aimed to curtail Iran's nuclear capabilities and prevent it from acquiring nuclear weapons in the future.
Israel utilized warships and advanced drones in these attacks. Reports suggest that several senior Iranian military officials were also targeted. Iran's retaliatory missile strikes followed this military action.
Israel's Stark Warning to Tehran
Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant and Israel Katz issued b warnings to Iran. Katz, in a firm statement, declared, "If Iran launches missiles at Israel again, Tehran will be engulfed in flames." He also stated that the Iranian regime is endangering its own citizens, and the capital, Tehran, will bear the brunt of the consequences. This statement followed a high-level meeting attended by the IDF Chief of Staff, the director of Mossad, and other senior military officials.
A Looming Global Conflict?
Analysts believe that if this conflict escalates, its impact will not be limited to the Middle East. The strategic silence of the United States, Russia, China, and European countries is a cause for concern. There is a significant risk of a sharp increase in oil prices, and global supply chains could also be affected.
Israel's Security Agencies on High Alert
Following the attacks, Israeli intelligence agencies and security forces are on high alert. Air defenses have been strengthened in all major cities. A high alert has been issued for schools, hospitals, and public places. Citizens have been advised to take shelter in bunkers.
