The conflict involving the United States, Israel, and Iran in the Middle East has entered its 20th day, with tensions continuing to escalate. On Wednesday, Israel carried out its largest attack on Iran to date, targeting for the first time the South Pars gas field, described as the backbone of Iran’s economy. The strike caused significant damage to the gas field, with smoke and fire reported across the area.

Following the attack, Iran responded by targeting LNG facilities in Qatar. Iran stated that Israel’s strike had a serious impact on its energy supply and economy. In response to the incident, allied countries including the United States, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, and Oman condemned Israel’s attack.

Amid the escalating conflict, US President Donald Trump issued a statement saying that Israel would not carry out further strikes on the South Pars gas field. He said only a small portion of the gas field was affected and that the United States had no prior knowledge of the attack.

Trump stated that Qatar was not involved in the attack and had no prior information about the incident. He also said Iran did not have accurate information regarding the attack on the gas field or the strike on Qatar’s LNG facilities, and described Iran’s attack on Qatar as wrong and inappropriate.

Trump said the South Pars gas field is highly important and valuable for both Israel and the United States. He warned that no further attacks would take place on the field unless Iran launches another attack on Qatar. He added that if such an event occurs, the United States would target the field with full force, with or without Israel’s assistance, and said Iran has never faced such power before.

He also stated that he does not authorize violence and destruction, citing potential long-term consequences for Iran’s future. The attack on the South Pars gas field has implications beyond Iran’s energy supply, with potential effects on regional energy security and the global gas market. Trump’s statement indicated that the United States is prepared to play an active role in the situation and may take b action if further developments occur.

Separately, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, and Oman condemned the attack, stating that such actions could threaten peace and security in the region.
