Patna: Rail operations on the important Jasidih-Jhajha rail section of Eastern Railway have been severely affected following a goods train accident in Jamui district of Bihar. An obstruction on the track between Lahaban and Simultala stations on this section has temporarily halted the operation of several trains, while the routes of seven major long-distance trains have been altered. This incident is directly impacting passengers in Bihar, Jharkhand, and West Bengal.
How the Incident Occurred and Current Situation
According to railway officials, an obstruction occurred on the track due to a technical malfunction or accident involving a goods train in the Lahaban-Simultala section of the Jasidih-Jhajha rail section. This has affected the operation of both up and down lines on this busy rail section. Prioritizing safety, the railway immediately suspended rail operations and initiated repair work.
