Nine Villagers Killed in Jhabua Road Accident

Jhabua Road Accident: A tragic accident occurred in Jhabua district, Madhya Pradesh, India. In the early hours of Wednesday, nine villagers returning from a wedding were killed instantly in a road accident. The accident has cast a pall of gloom over the village and the surrounding area. Two others, a young woman and a child, sustained serious injuries.

How the Accident Happened

The accident took place near the Sajeli crossing on the Meghnagar-Thandla road in Jhabua district. The villagers, traveling in an Eco vehicle, were returning from a wedding when their vehicle was struck head-on by a tanker. The impact was so severe that the Eco vehicle was completely wrecked, resulting in the immediate death of all nine occupants.

Villagers Returning from a Wedding

According to police, all the victims were residents of Shivgarh Mahura and Devigarh villages in the Thandla area. They had attended a wedding ceremony in Manpura village near Kalyanpura and were returning in an Eco vehicle (GJ 09 BL 5956) when their vehicle collided with an oncoming tanker (RJ 09 GC 7915) near the Sajeli crossing.

Horrific Aftermath of the Accident

The collision was so forceful that the Eco vehicle was completely crushed. Police and villagers struggled to retrieve the bodies from the wreckage. The tanker driver fled the scene immediately after the accident.

Administration Responds

Upon receiving news of the incident, Jhabua SP Padam Vilocham Shukla arrived at the scene. He instructed the Thandla and Meghnagar police station in-charges and oversaw the relief efforts. Police have registered a case against the tanker driver and launched an investigation.

Injured Receiving Treatment

The two injured individuals remain in serious condition. Payal daughter of Somla Parmar (19), resident of Devigarh, was referred to Dahod for advanced treatment. Ashu son of Ramchand Bamnia (5), resident of Shivgarh Mahura, is receiving treatment at Thandla Civil Hospital.

Village in Mourning, Calls for Aid

The death of nine people has sent shockwaves through the village. Villagers and relatives are inconsolable. Many families have lost their sole breadwinners. There are calls for financial assistance from the government and administration for the affected families.
