Massive Fire Engulfs Jodhpur Oil Paint Warehouse, Explosions Hinder Firefighting Efforts

A massive fire broke out in an oil paint warehouse in Jodhpur's Chopasni Housing Board. Intermittent explosions are occurring, with fire services and administration actively on site, while nearby patients have been shifted to a safe location.

Jodhpur: A massive fire erupted at the Ranga Sagar Oil Paint warehouse near Chopasni Housing Board on Thursday night at 9:30 PM. The fire was so intense that it spread from the ground floor to the third floor. Due to the presence of oil paint and spirit in the warehouse, continuous explosions are occurring amidst efforts to control the blaze.

Five fire brigade vehicles, a sky lift, and an Air Force fire-fighting team are engaged in extinguishing the fire. Patients and staff from the nearby natural therapy center were safely relocated to another place to prevent any harm.

Flames Visible from Afar

The flames of the fire were visible from a considerable distance in the surrounding area. The main road was closed, and RAC personnel along with additional police forces were deployed to control the large crowd. Officials appealed to local residents to stay away from the street and the fire-affected zone.

Patients from the natural therapy center were moved to a safe location and kept secure under the supervision of staff. The administration reported no casualties during the fire.

Difficulty in Firefighting Due to Explosions

Fire services are facing difficulties in extinguishing the fire due to the presence of oil paint and spirit in the warehouse. Pratap Nagar ACP Ravindra Bothra, police officers, and South Mayor Vanita Seth were present at the scene, overseeing firefighting and relief operations.

Firefighters utilized special equipment and techniques to control the blaze. Due to continuous explosions, they had to retreat repeatedly for safety reasons.

Appeal to Local Residents for Calm

Officials appealed to local residents to maintain calm and not pay heed to rumors. The cause of the fire is not yet clear, but the police and fire department are investigating it.

The administration also stated that the affected area would be inspected, and safety standards would be further tightened to prevent such incidents in the future.
