Karnataka Power Struggle: Congress High Command Summons Siddaramaiah, Shivakumar to Delhi

The escalating power struggle between Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah and Deputy CM DK Shivakumar forces the Congress high command to intervene, summoning both leaders to Delhi on Nov 29 to resolve the dispute.

Following the escalating power struggle between CM Siddaramaiah and Deputy CM DK Shivakumar in Karnataka, the Congress high command has become active. Both leaders have been summoned to Delhi, and an attempt will be made to resolve the dispute in a meeting on November 29.

Karnataka: The ongoing tug-of-war over power transfer between Chief Minister (CM) Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister (Deputy CM) DK Shivakumar in Karnataka has now become a major topic in national politics. The Congress high command had remained silent on this issue for a long time, but increasing pressure and political messages have forced the party leadership to become active. The party's strategy is now clearly to resolve the matter at the Delhi level to prevent its impact on the government and restore stability within the organization. With this objective, the Congress leadership has expedited preparations to summon both leaders to Delhi.

Buzz Grows Over Preparations for Delhi Summons

Top party leaders Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi are meeting in Delhi today. This meeting signals that the Congress is no longer in a mood to postpone the matter. The Congress had long maintained that there would be no immediate change in power transfer in Karnataka, and the status quo would be maintained. However, DK Shivakumar's continuously increasing activism and the political pressure from his supporters are changing this situation. This is why preparations for the Delhi summons have now officially intensified.

According to party sources, both Siddaramaiah and DK Shivakumar will have to present their arguments directly before Rahul Gandhi in this meeting. This makes it clear that the decision will be made at the high command level, and whichever leader presents their case effectively might find the path somewhat easier.

Hopes of the DK Shivakumar Camp

Karnataka Power Struggle: Congress High Command Summons Siddaramaiah, Shivakumar to Delhi

There is particular enthusiasm in the DK Shivakumar camp regarding the Delhi meeting. Supporters are confident that this is their b opportunity. They believe that the time has come to demand a clear answer on the promise Siddaramaiah made during the elections regarding the transfer of power after two and a half years. This meeting is considered a big step in the direction of that answer.

The DK Shivakumar team also believes that the opportunity to present their case directly before Rahul Gandhi puts them on an equal footing. Therefore, they are continuously devising strategies on how to strengthen their claim. Meanwhile, their supporters are growing ber in their belief that the high command is now moving towards a decision rather than maintaining the status quo.

Siddaramaiah Camp Intensifies Preparations

On the other hand, CM Siddaramaiah has also become fully active. Today, several senior ministers, including Home Minister G Parameshwara, arrived at his residence. Ministers Satish Jarkiholi, H C Mahadevappa, Venkatesh, and former minister K N Rajanna also attended this meeting.

This meeting is considered highly strategic because if the high command considers a third leader, the Siddaramaiah camp must decide what arguments and situations they will present to the high command. This is why several points were deeply discussed in the meeting held at his residence. This clearly indicates that Siddaramaiah is also leaving no stone unturned to strengthen his position.

Focus on MLA Support

It is an open secret in Karnataka politics that Siddaramaiah still enjoys the support of a large number of Members of Legislative Assembly (MLAs). DK Shivakumar knows that this support is his biggest challenge. If the high command leaves the matter to the Congress Legislature Party (CLP), i.e., a meeting of MLAs, his claim could weaken.

For this reason, DK Shivakumar's camp is continuously approaching every MLA. His brother and former MP DK Suresh has also been entrusted with the responsibility of garnering support.
