Lucknow: Police have unravelled the murder of cab driver Sarvesh Yadav, who had been missing for a month in Lucknow. Malihabad Police and DCP North's Crime Team have arrested three accused, including Shera, the drug-addicted son of a former corporator, while a fourth accused remains at large. The murder, committed on August 20 with the intention of robbery, involved shooting Sarvesh dead to steal 1200 rupees and his mobile phone. Police reached the murderers by analyzing approximately 500 CCTV footages and phone tracing.
The Full Case of the Cab Driver's Murder and Robbery
Sarvesh Yadav, who left home on August 20, suddenly went missing. His family hoped he would return one day, but as time passed, their worries deepened. Despite the recovery of his car, the driver's disappearance turned the case into a 'blind murder' for the police.
Following continuous investigation, police found a crucial clue from Sarvesh's mobile phone. When the phone was switched on, the surveillance team became active and tracked down the murderers. Based on the information provided by the arrested accused, a skeleton was recovered from the bushes in the Mati area.
Robbery and Murder Under the Influence of Cannabis
Police investigation revealed that the four accused approached Sarvesh near the Indira Dam. Saurabh alias Shera, intoxicated with cannabis, tried to take money from Sarvesh's pocket. When Sarvesh resisted, his accomplices overpowered him, and Shera shot him with a pistol.
After the murder, the accused looted 1200 rupees and a mobile phone from Sarvesh. His body was put into the car, dumped in the bushes near the Mati flyover, and the car was abandoned in a deserted spot before they fled. This entire incident caused a sensation in the area.
Former Corporator's Son Identified as Mastermind
Among the arrested accused, Saurabh Yadav alias Shera is prominent, being the son of Rajeshwari Yadav, a former corporator of Shaheed Bhagat Singh Ward. Police stated that Shera had bought an illegal pistol seven months ago for 58,000 rupees and was frequently intoxicated.
His accomplices, Vijay Yadav and Akhil Yadav, have also been arrested. Vijay works for a private company, while Akhil did manual labor alongside his studies. The fourth accused, Arvind Singh alias Kallu, is still absconding, and the search for him is ongoing.
Family Grieves Over Youth's Murder
Sarvesh Yadav was the sole earning member of his family. His world revolved around his wife, Sushma, and three children. After the recovery of the skeleton, the family is in deep despair, crying inconsolably. The last glimmer of hope they held has also been shattered.
Upon the resolution of the case due to the police's diligent efforts, DCP North has honored the team. An award of 15,000 rupees has been announced for several officers, including Inspector Malihabad Surendra Singh Bhati and the Crime Branch team. Meanwhile, the police are now searching for the absconding accused and awaiting the DNA report.
