Risk of flooding increased due to heavy rainfall

The monsoon is currently fully active in the state, and heavy rainfall is occurring in many areas. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued Yellow and Orange alerts for heavy to very heavy rainfall in various districts of Madhya Pradesh. These include Sagar, Jabalpur, Indore, Vidisha, Narsinghpur, Dhar, Ratlam, Guna, Chhatarpur, Gwalior, and Shivpuri, among more than 25 other districts.

The Meteorological Department said that the maximum temperature in the capital Bhopal is likely to remain between 28 to 30 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature between 22 to 24 degrees Celsius. Due to the continuous rainfall, the water level of the rivers is also rising, leading to the risk of flooding.

The administration has appealed to people to remain alert, avoid unnecessary travel, and refrain from going to waterlogged or flood-affected areas.
