To provide relief to those affected by the disaster in Himachal, Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has announced a house and ₹7 lakh for every victim. Heavy machinery has been deployed to expedite relief efforts.
Himachal: Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has made several important announcements to provide relief to the people affected by the recent disaster in the Seraj area of Mandi district. He clarified that every affected family will get a new home and the government will provide financial assistance of ₹7 lakh each.
New homes for those displaced by the disaster
During his visit to the Seraj constituency, the Chief Minister said that the homes of many families have been completely destroyed or are no longer habitable. The government will make arrangements for the rehabilitation of all such families. He said that building houses in Himachal is not easy and he understands this pain. In this hour of crisis, the government stands firmly with every affected family.
Government to provide land where needed
The Chief Minister informed that if someone does not have land, the government will provide land as required. However, he also added that the permission of the central government is necessary for rehabilitation on forest land. He appealed to all BJP MPs to help expedite the approval of this process from the central government.
CM reviews arrangements at relief camp
CM Sukhu visited the Bagsyad relief camp and met the victims present there, listening to their problems. He also had meals with the affected people and children. During this, he reviewed the arrangements being made at the relief camp and gave necessary instructions to the officers.
50 JCB machines deployed in relief operations
The Chief Minister said that relief and rescue operations are underway on a war footing in the Seraj area. 50 JCBs and other heavy machinery have been deployed to restore the roads in the area. He also acknowledged that delivering relief material will remain a major challenge until the roads are fully restored. However, the administration is handling the situation seriously.
Compensation to be provided for shop and livestock losses
Chief Minister Sukhu also assured that the government will compensate those whose shops, animal sheds, and livestock have been destroyed in the disaster. He said that the state government is working on every aspect so that no victim feels alone.
Relief material sent to Rengalu by helicopter
The Chief Minister said that he himself has sent relief material to Rengalu through a helicopter. He expressed concern over the rumors being spread on social media and said that such भ्रम should be avoided.
Deputy CM and Ministers also visited the affected area
Deputy CM Mukesh Agnihotri and Public Works Minister Vikramaditya Singh have also visited the disaster-affected areas. They have also assured people of all possible assistance. The Chief Minister said that during the devastating disaster of 2023, the state government had also successfully completed the rehabilitation work with its own resources.
